Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced structural engineer for the Lunar Permanence unit. You will design, analyze, and test primary and secondary structures for aerospace hardware, create 3D models and assemblies, and support manufacturing and integration of flight hardware.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 7+ years in aerospace/launch vehicle structures, and strong CAD/analysis tool proficiency including Creo, Windchill, Nastran, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BS degree in engineering.
• 7+ years of experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Experience with structural design of metallic components and assemblies, load path distribution, and first order strength assessment and sizing.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10.
• Knowledge of design and fabrication for composite structures.
• Experience with analysis codes: Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct, Abaqus, HyperMesh, Hypersizer.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary structures.
• Create 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
• Provide manufacturing and production support for hardware.
• Provide technical guidance for integration and trade studies.
• Plan, coordinate, conduct tests, and review data for flight hardware.
