Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking an experienced LTL Dispatcher in Grapevine, TX. This hands-on role coordinates daily freight movements, collaborates with drivers and carriers, and ensures on-time pickups and deliveries across Canada and the U.S.

You will plan routes, monitor shipments, resolve issues, and may take on leadership responsibilities as the business grows. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in LTL dispatch and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on LTL dispatch or transportation operations experience.
• Strong understanding of LTL dispatch, routing, load planning and driver coordination.
• Experience with cross-border shipments and communicating with drivers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily LTL pickups, deliveries and freight movements across the network.
• Dispatch drivers and coordinate schedules, routes, equipment and shipment requirements.
• Plan and optimize loads and routes to maximize efficiency, service and capacity.
• Communicate with drivers, carriers, customers and internal teams throughout the shipment lifecycle.
• Monitor shipments and proactively manage delays, missed pickups and delivery issues.
• Track freight movement through the TMS and ensure information is up to date.
• Coordinate cross-border shipments and ensure documentation and requirements are in place.
• Work with carriers to arrange capacity and resolve service issues.
• Respond to customer inquiries with timely shipment updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve dispatch processes and overall efficiency.

Job description

Our client is an established transportation company specializing in LTL freight and cross-border logistics across Canada and the U.S.

As the operation continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced LTL Dispatcher to coordinate daily freight movements, work closely with drivers and carriers, and ensure shipments are picked up and delivered efficiently and on schedule.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on LTL dispatch role for someone who understands the day-to-day demands of a busy transportation operation.

You’ll be responsible for coordinating pickups and deliveries, planning routes and loads, communicating with drivers and customers, monitoring shipments, and resolving issues as they arise. The role also offers an opportunity to take on some team leadership and operational responsibilities as the business continues to grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Coordinate daily LTL pickups, deliveries and freight movements across the network.
  
• Dispatch drivers and coordinate schedules, routes, equipment and shipment requirements.
  
• Plan and optimize loads and routes to maximize efficiency, service and capacity.
  
• Communicate directly with drivers, carriers, customers and internal teams throughout the shipment lifecycle.
  
• Monitor shipments and proactively manage delays, missed pickups, delivery issues and other exceptions.
  
• Track freight movement through the TMS and ensure shipment information is accurate and up to date.
  
• Coordinate cross-border shipments and ensure the appropriate documentation and requirements are in place.
  
• Work with carriers and transportation partners to arrange capacity and resolve service issues.
  
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide timely updates on shipment status.
  
• Help identify opportunities to improve dispatch processes, routing, service levels and overall transportation efficiency.
  
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to other dispatch and logistics team members as required.
  

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on LTL dispatch or transportation operations experience , ideally within an LTL carrier, terminal or freight environment.
  
• Strong understanding of LTL dispatch, routing, load planning, pickups, deliveries and driver coordination.
  
• Experience working directly with drivers and managing day-to-day transportation issues.
  
• Comfortable using a TMS or transportation management system ; TruckMate experience is an asset.
  
• Experience with cross-border transportation between Canada and the U.S. is an asset.
  
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
  
• Confident communicator who can work effectively with drivers, customers, carriers and internal teams.
  
• Hands-on, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to make quick decisions when operational issues arise.
  
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is an asset, but strong LTL dispatch experience is the priority .
