Job summary

Alden Group Homes seeks a qualified RN or LPN to provide direct nursing care and supervise nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards while maintaining the highest quality of care for residents. The role requires leadership, clear communication, and independent decision-making.

Responsibilities include care planning, supervision, medication administration, charting, and collaboration with physicians and families to support resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must possess current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Must have ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with customers, family, visitors, staff, and public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and work harmoniously with others.
• Must be personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the care for residents.
• Directly supervise and instruct nursing staff to promote knowledge.
• Ensure adherence to department policies and dress code.
• Develop written plan of care for each resident.
• Attend care-plan conferences and report concerns.
• Complete accident/incident reports.
• Chart nurses’ notes reflecting care and resident responses.
• Complete admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other related duties.
