Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking qualified nursing leadership to provide direct care to residents and supervise nursing assistants. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards while delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities include planning and directing nursing activities, conducting care planning conferences, and ensuring accurate charting and documentation. Strong communication and supervisory skills are essential for this weekend position.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
• Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with customers, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must be personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants as per regulations.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct unit operations.
• Directly supervise and instruct staff on topics to promote job knowledge.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures including dress code.
• Assist in developing a written plan of care for each customer.
• Attend and participate in care plan conferences as directed.
• Report concerns to the Administrator and counsel staff as needed.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor duties and procedures.
• Create a warm, calm department environment and participate in education programs.
• Order medications and treatments as needed following budget guidelines.
• Document nursing notes and charting accurately.
• Complete admissions, transfers, and discharge processes.
