Job summary

Nordstrom’s Loyalty Technology team builds the platform for earning, tracking, and redemption across channels. A Senior Engineer will lead strategy, design across services, and ensure reliability, security, and operational readiness of loyalty APIs and services.

You will mentor engineers, participate in incident resolution, and help mature AI-native practices while delivering high-quality, scalable solutions for the loyalty ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with RESTful services and Kafka.
• Experience with AWS or GCP services and cloud-native development.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical strategy and solution design for Loyalty Technology.
• Own solutions spanning multiple services and teams; translate requirements into design.
• Lead design and code reviews for quality and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and support incident resolution for production issues across loyalty platform.
• Design, build, and maintain high-performing loyalty services and APIs.
• Improve CI/CD, testing, deployment, and release processes.
