Job summary

Nordstrom seeks a senior platform architect to set the technical direction for cloud platforms, CI/CD, and SRE, shaping architecture and engineering practices across the organization.

You will mentor senior engineers, influence hiring, and drive reliability through incidents reviews, capacity planning, load testing, and production resilience in a multi-region environment, while balancing cost and customer needs. Located at Seattle HQ, four days on-site are required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Deep architectural experience with large-scale cloud platforms, Kubernetes, multi-account estates, and shared services.
• Enterprise-scale continuous delivery, software supply chain security, SRE practices, and production resilience experience.
• Experience engineering for predictable traffic peaks, including capacity forecasting, load testing, and chaos exercises.
• Strong technical judgment, cross-team influence, communication, and mentorship skills.
• Available to work at the Seattle corporate headquarters at least four days per week.
