Job summary

General Motors is seeking a PSDS Lead Engineer to orchestrate the design and delivery of power and signal distribution for vehicle programs. You will lead a global team, oversee design rework, ICDe integration, and release prototype deliverables, coordinating with vehicle program teams and other engineering groups to ensure timely, high-quality builds.

The role emphasizes leadership, advanced engineering analysis, and collaboration across worldwide teams to drive innovation in power distribution

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in power signal or wire harness packaging.
• Understanding of engineering theory and operation of mechanical/electrical systems.
• Strong technical and professional skills in the relevant area.
• High level analytical ability for complex problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Define program-specific sourcing requirements.
• Provide technical background in PSDS supplier reviews.
• Create initial harness parts list and complexity studies.
• Maintain program scope, timing, issues, and changes.
• Lead supplier efforts within the engineering factory.
• Identify training needs and coordinate with leadership.
• Interface tradeoffs and resolve integration issues.
• Manage cost, quality, mass and changes in PSDS.
• Support pre-production builds and both physical/virtual builds.
• Ensure wiring system integration within vehicle architecture.
