Job summary

General Motors is seeking a PSDS Lead Engineer to design and implement the power and signal distribution system for vehicle programs. You will lead a team of engineers, oversee design rework, ICDe integration, and release of prototype deliverables including documentation and 2D drawings, enabling higher software fidelity.

You will collaborate globally with vehicle program teams across interiors, chassis, validation, and manufacturing, while driving technical leadership and complex design

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• 5+ years in Power Signal or Wire harness packaging.
• Strong understanding of engineering theory and operation of mechanical/electrical systems.
• Demonstrated technical and professional skills in a relevant area.
• High analytical ability for complex problems.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work independently and with others.
• Knowledge of engineering software and systems relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Provides program specific requirements for sourcing process.
• Provides technical background in PSDS supplier technical reviews.
• Creates initial harness parts list and complexity studies.
• Maintains program effort alignment with PSDS requirements, timing and plan.
• Manages supplier efforts within the engineering factory.
• Coordinates training needs with EGM approval.
• Participates in interface tradeoffs and resolves integration issues.
• Manages cost, quality, mass for PSDS and handles content changes.
• Supports Pre-Production builds (physical and virtual).
• Ensures wiring system design, development, and electrical release integrate with vehicle architecture.
