Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager Logistics to lead the Distribution Center operations at Corbin, KY or Louisville, KY on-site.

You will supervise supervisors, manage warehousing and transportation solutions, and maintain regular customer contact to resolve issues and ensure service excellence. The role emphasizes strategic planning, LEAN process improvements, and protecting safety with a strong focus on mentoring staff and optimizing performance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
• Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred.
• Five+ years' experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or related field.
• Five+ years' managing, leading and developing direct reports.
• Three+ years' Profit & Loss responsibility preferred.
• One+ year' customer interaction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with the customer to resolve issues promptly while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
• Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation.
• Identify and solve operational issues using continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.
• Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees; maintain positive employee relations.
• Maintain open and effective communications within the work group and with other teams.
• Review data, identify actions, and implement necessary steps.
• May manage profit & loss statements based on scope and complexity.
• Lead a proactive safety program aligned with company policy.
• Instruct and enforce location safety management plans and training.
• Monitor equipment maintenance for assigned work groups using checklists.
