Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Illinois seeks a Senior Manager Logistics to lead the Distribution Center and its supervisors, overseeing turnkey warehousing and transportation solutions. The incumbent will maintain a high level interface with the customer on a regular basis.

The role requires strategic planning, LEAN initiatives, and the ability to hire, develop, and manage performance while ensuring safety and efficiency across operations.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
• Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with the customer to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation.
• Identify and solve operational issues with LEAN initiatives to strengthen team and productivity.
• Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees and maintain positive relations.
• Maintain open communications within the work groups and with other teams; review data and take necessary actions.
• May manage profit & loss statements based on the operation's scope.
• Lead a proactive safety program; enforce location safety plans, training, and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
