Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Senior Manager Logistics for a fully onsite role in Bloomfield, CT 06002. You will lead the Distribution Center and supervisors, interfacing regularly with the customer to ensure warehousing and transportation solutions in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred
• Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred
• Five (5) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or related field
• Five (5) years or more managing, leading and developing direct reports
• Three (3) years or more Profit & Loss responsibility preferred
• One (1) year or more customer interaction preferred

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with the customer to ensure issues are resolved promptly and satisfaction is high
• Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation
• Identify and solve operational issues with LEAN initiatives to strengthen team and results
• Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees
• Maintain open communications within work groups and across the organization
• May manage profit and loss statements based on organization scope
• Lead a proactive safety program to ensure a safe work environment
