Job summary

ICAT LOGISTICS INC. in Elkridge, MD is seeking a Sr. Operations Agent to provide elite customer service through end-to-end import shipment processing.

You will rate quotes, select vendors, invoice, and manage gross margin while driving operational excellence. Responsibilities include scheduling, routing, carrier negotiations, managing shipment lifecycles, and ensuring compliance. You will build SOPs, monitor performance, collaborate with KAMs, and support a fast-paced, client-centric freight

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of transportation and/or freight forwarding experience.
• Working knowledge of spot quotes and routing LTL/TL and expedited ground services.
• Expertise in NMFC and density rating; hands-on rating and routing freight.
• Experience with government freight and USTRANSCOM is a plus.
• Knowledge of FMC, IMCO, ITA, TSA, C-TPAT, CBP and international regs.
• Strong relationship-building with customers and vendors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, schedule, and route shipments for transportation throughout the U.S.
• Oversee shipment lifecycle management and ensure data accuracy with strong exception handling.
• Schedule pickups and deliveries; book space with carriers; negotiate rates.
• Prepare quotations and track/trace freight with ETA and piece counts.
• Enter vendor costs and invoice within ICAT policy; maintain TMS data.
• Design and refine SOPs and workflows to improve efficiency and margin.
• Collaborate with KAMs and station leadership; participate in sales calls with key accounts.
