Job summary

ICAT Logistics in Elkridge, MD seeks a Sr. Operations Agent to manage import shipments for high-quality customer experiences. You will coordinate day-to-day operations, rate quotes, decide on vendors, and optimize margins across domestic and international shipments.

You will create SOPs, track shipments, and ensure accurate data in the operating system while maintaining strong relationships with customers and carriers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of transportation and/or freight forwarding experience.
• Experience with spot quotes, routing LTL/TL/expedited ground services.
• Knowledge of NMFC and density rating; rating and routing freight.
• Familiarity with government freight; USTRANSCOM a plus.
• Understanding of FMC, IMCO, ITA, TSA, CBP regulations.
• Strong vendor relationships and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, schedule, and route shipments for transportation throughout the U.S.
• Oversee shipment lifecycle, handling exceptions and making non-routine decisions.
• Book space with carriers and negotiate rates.
• Prepare quotations for ICAT clients and track/trace freight.
• Gather proofs of deliveries and enter them into the system.
• Maintain data in the TMS; ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist KAMs and station leadership; join sales calls with key accounts.
• Lead by example and mentor teammates; provide after-hours support when needed.
