Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Senior Manager Logistics in Elkridge, MD to lead the Distribution Center and supervising teams delivering warehousing and transportation solutions. You will maintain direct customer interface and ensure timely issue resolution while driving continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.

The role requires a strong background in supply chain leadership, with 5+ years in relevant fields, supervisory experience, and a track record in safety and operations management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain required
• Master's degree preferred in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain
• Five (5) years or more in Supply Chain, Logistics, warehouse or industry related field required
• Three (3) years or more Supervisory experience required
• Two (2) years or more Profit & Loss experience preferred
• Two (2) years or more Lean principles, systems and tools experience required

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with the customer to ensure issues are resolved promptly and maintain customer satisfaction
• Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation
• Identify and solve operational issues with the account by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives
• Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees and maintain positive employee relations
• Maintain open communications within work groups and with other teams; review data and take necessary actions
• May manage profit and loss statements based on organization scope
• Lead a proactive safety program in line with company policy and ensure safe operations
