Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Elkridge, MD seeks a Senior Logistics Manager to lead the Distribution Center and oversee warehousing and transportation solutions. This role interfaces with the customer regularly to resolve issues and drive high satisfaction. A strong background in LEAN, planning and team leadership is essential.

The incumbent will plan strategically, manage staff performance, and potentially oversee P&L depending on scope, while ensuring safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree preferred in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
• 5+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics, warehouse or industry related field.
• 3+ years supervisory experience.
• 2+ years Profit & Loss experience preferred.
• 2+ years Application of Lean principles, systems and tools.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with the customer to resolve issues promptly and maintain satisfaction.
• Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation.
• Identify and solve operational issues with LEAN initiatives to strengthen productivity.
• Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees.
• Maintain open communications within the work groups and with other groups; review data and take actions.
• Lead safety program and monitor equipment maintenance as required.
• Manage profit and loss statements based on organization scope when necessary.
