Job summary

Jaybird Senior Living is seeking a Life Engagement Assistant to create meaningful programs across social, physical, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and emotional wellness for residents. You will supervise engagement staff, coordinate events, and promote participation through personalized and group activities.

The role requires a flexible schedule with evenings and weekends, budget oversight, and strong communication skills; prior experience with seniors is preferred, and a chauffeur

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience working with elderly populations.
• Must obtain and maintain a chauffeur license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement resident activities reflecting the Six Dimensions of Wellness.
• Complete Life Story/Six Dimensions assessments for new residents.
• Oversee and support other Resident Engagement staff, including training and mentoring.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise resident outings and community events.
• Maintain activity areas, supplies, and equipment; manage volunteer involvement.
• Prepare and distribute the monthly Resident Engagement calendar and newsletter.
• Manage resident store (if applicable) and create/maintain life stations for Memory Care residents.
• Maintain records and comply with state regulations regarding volunteers and activities.
• Participate in staff training, in-services, and mandatory meetings; respond to flexible scheduling needs.
• Maintain budget for the Resident Engagement department and ensure proper allocation of resources.
