Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services seeks a Chauffeur, Non-DOT to operate the community van/bus (15 passengers or fewer) and assist with social activities for residents. You will transport residents to activities and appointments, help with boarding and seating, and coordinate with staff for events.

The role requires a valid license in IL/MO/PA for up to 15 passengers, prior bus/van driving experience, CPR certification, and strong communication skills. Flexibility for evenings/weekends may be needed.

Qualifications

• Driver's licenses for transporting 15 or fewer passengers across IL, MO, PA (Class D/E/C as applicable).
• Experience as a bus/van driver is preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• Need patience and ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to communicate with residents and write reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level customer service while transporting residents to activities, appointments and outings.
• Coordinate transportation for events and activities with supervisor.
• Maintain and clean vehicle, perform basic preventative maintenance and fueling.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards or incidents.
• Follow infection control procedures and wear protective equipment when required.

Education

Illinois Class D License (drivers up to 15 passengers)

Missouri Class E License (drivers up to 15 passengers)

Pennsylvania Class C License (drivers up to 15 passengers)

Experience as bus/van driver

CPR certification

Patience and independent decision-making

Effective communication with residents
