Job summary

Prairie Pointe is seeking a Licensed Driver to operate a minibus for transporting older adults and authorized personnel on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 12 hours weekly. The driver will conduct pre-trip inspections, follow safety regulations, keep the bus clean, and assist with onboarding/offboarding of passengers using wheelchairs while properly securing them.

Responsibilities include transporting passengers to appointments, adjusting climate controls for comfort, and enforcing safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must have IL State Driver’s License.
• Unrestricted license in effect for three years.
• First aid/CPR certification.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers to and from doctor appointments within the established time and schedules.
• Regulate heating, cooling and ventilation for passenger comfort on the bus.
• Operate the vehicle in a safe, courteous and reliable manner.
• Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections.
• Assist in boarding and disembarking of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and secure wheelchairs.
• Enforce safety rules for passengers.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Prairie Pointe is seeking a Licensed Driver to operate a minibus that will transport older adults, and other authorized personnel safely and efficiently on Tuesday and Thursday for 12 hours total per week. The Driver will conduct pre-trip inspections; observe safety regulations and policies; reinforce safety rules on the bus, keep the bus clean and free of debris and perform related work. The Driver is responsible for (but not limited to), operating the vehicle in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner, assist in the onboarding and offboarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure their wheelchairs in the vehicle.

• Transport passengers to and from destinations related to doctor appointments within the established time and schedules.
• Regulate heating, cooling and ventilation equipment provided on the bus for the comfort of the passengers.
• Operate the vehicle in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner
• Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections
• May be required to assist in the boarding and disembarking of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly secure wheelchairs.
• Enforce safety rules for passengers
• Must have a IL State Driver’s License
• Must have an unrestricted license in effect for three (3) years
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• High school diploma or GED is preferred
• Must have first aid/CPR certification
