Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services in Webster Groves, MO, is seeking a DOT Chauffeur to drive the community van or bus (16+ passengers), assisting residents with activities and transportation, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include transporting residents, assisting with boarding, securing wheelchairs, maintaining the vehicle, coordinating with staff for events, and possibly handling mail and supplies.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class C passenger endorsement.
• DOT compliant physical required.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience as a bus/van driver preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments and other outings.
• Assists residents with boarding, seating, seat belts, walkers, and mobility devices during transit.
• Maintains vehicle by fueling, basic maintenance, and ensuring cleanliness.
• Coordinates transportation for events, activities, and appointments as needed.
• May pick-up/deliver mail, supplies, equipment, and parcels for residents and staff.
• Completes daily Driver Activity and Vehicle Reports as required.

Job Description: Summary The “Chauffeur, DOT” is responsible for driving the community van or bus (including vehicles transporting 16+ passengers) and assisting in managing social activities for the residents in and out of the Life Plan Community; Provides excellent customer service to residents.

Responsibilities

• 1. Provides a high level of customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments and other outings; Provides assistance to residents to include boarding and leaving the bus, assistance with seat belts, walkers, securing wheelchairs, groceries and packages
• 2. Responsible for the general upkeep of the vehicle including: fueling vehicle and conducting preventative maintenance on vehicle to include oil level, tire pressure and delivering vehicle to authorized service facility; Keeps the vehicle clean
• 3. May be assigned the responsibility of assisting the Lifestyle Enrichment Director or Service Coordinator by coordinating transportation for events, activities, appointments, etc.
• 4. May be assigned the responsibility of picking-up and delivering mail, supplies, equipment, and both resident and agency parcels, as requested
• 5. May be required to complete and log daily Driver Activity and Vehicle Reports according to prescribed procedures for their location
• 6. May be assigned the responsibility of assisting with facility "set-ups" as may be required
