Lutheran Senior Services seeks a Chauffeur, Non-DOT to operate the community van/bus (15 passengers or fewer) and assist with social activities for residents. You will transport residents to activities and appointments, help with boarding and seating, and coordinate with staff for events.

The role requires a valid license in IL/MO/PA for up to 15 passengers, prior bus/van driving experience, CPR certification, and strong communication skills. Flexibility for evenings/weekends may be needed.

Formación

• Driver's licenses for transporting 15 or fewer passengers across IL, MO, PA (Class D/E/C as applicable).
• Experience as a bus/van driver is preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• Need patience and ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Ability to communicate with residents and write reports.

• Maintain and clean vehicle, perform basic preventative maintenance and fueling.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards or incidents.
• Follow infection control procedures and wear protective equipment when required.

Job Description: Introduction

Summary

The “Chauffeur, Non-DOT” is responsible for driving the community van or bus (including only vehicles transporting up to 15 passengers) and assists in managing social activities for the residents in and out of the community.

Responsibilities

• Provides a high level of customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments and other outings; Provides assistance to residents to include boarding and leaving the bus, assistance with seat belts, walkers, securing wheelchairs, groceries and packages
• Assists the Lifestyle Enrichment Director or Service Coordinator by coordinating transportation for events, activities, appointments, etc.
• Responsible for general upkeep of the vehicle including: fueling vehicle and conducting preventative maintenance on vehicle to include oil level, tire pressure and delivering vehicle to authorized service facility; Keeps the vehicle clean
• Follows all safety procedures and protocol as dictated by EverTrue policy, federal and state regulations and standard practice; Reports all hazardous conditions, defective equipment and accidents or incidents to the supervisor immediately
• Follows infection control procedures, including proper hand washing, wearing protective clothing and equipment when required

• Driver’s License for transporting 15 or fewer passengers (including the driver): Class D in Illinois
• Class E in Missouri
• Class C in Pennsylvania
• Experience as a bus or van driver preferred
• Must be CPR certified
• To be successful in this position, an employee will need patience and the ability to handle challenging situations; There may be circumstances that require the ability to make independent decisions when warranted; Flexibility may be required to accommodate evening or weekend activities Ability to communicate effectively with residents; Written skills for reports

Pay & Benefits
