Job summary

Active Day is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan, facilitate, and evaluate therapeutic recreational programs at a center. You will lead by example, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure programs meet safety and regulatory standards while promoting health and happiness for members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred per state guidelines.
• Minimum two years activities experience, healthcare setting preferred.
• Background check required and state regulatory requirements may apply.
• Experience with seniors or adults with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Assess new members to identify interests and needs; maintain records.
• Develop and implement diverse therapeutic recreational programs and calendars.
• Recruit, onboard and supervise staff, aides and volunteers; manage the schedule.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and clean, organized program areas.
• Coordinate with internal/external services to ensure quality care.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to team goals and member experience.
• Stay current on industry knowledge and trends through education.
• Assist members with activities of daily living when needed.
• Communicate professionally with members, families and partners.
• Comply with policies, safety and regulatory standards.

Education
