Job summary

Americare Senior Living is seeking an energetic Activity Assistant / Coordinator to support resident engagement in a skilled nursing setting. You will plan and lead recreational and therapeutic activities that promote social interaction, independence, and quality of life.

Work alongside the care team to ensure sessions are inclusive, person-centered, and aligned with individual care plans. This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and compassionate engagement across facilities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional education related to activities, recreation, or life enrichment preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport residents.
• Compassionate, creative, and resident-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, facilitating, and directing recreational activity programs.
• Support resident engagement through group and one-on-one activities.
• Adapt activities to meet individual resident abilities, interests, and care plans.
• Encourage resident participation and social interaction.
• Assist with special events, celebrations, and community outings.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Maintain documentation related to resident participation as required.

• Follow all facility, state, and federal guidelines related to resident engagement.
