Job summary

Active Day is seeking an Activities Coordinator to design, facilitate, and evaluate therapeutic recreational programs for members. You will lead staff and volunteers, ensure safety, and align activities with member needs to promote health and happiness.

The role requires a proactive leader who communicates well, manages schedules, and collaborates across teams to enhance daily living and social engagement for seniors and adults with special needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BS preferred.
• Minimum two years of activities experience in healthcare preferred.
• Experience with seniors or adults with special needs preferred.
• Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills.
• Able to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to stand and engage with members; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Conduct therapeutic recreational assessments to identify interests and needs.
• Develop and implement diverse therapeutic programs; publish calendars.
• Supervise and onboard program staff and volunteers; maintain master schedule.
• Manage supplies and equipment; keep program areas organized and safe.
• Participate in safety, care planning and coordinating with internal/external services.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to improving member experience.
• Stay updated on industry trends and professional development.
• Assist members with activities of daily living as needed.
• Communicate positively with members, families, and partners.
• Comply with policies, safety and regulatory standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
