Job summary

CorsoCare Personal Care Director at Independence Village of Aurora oversees the overall direction of administrative, clinical, and resident care services in a senior living community. Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Compassionate towards the senior population.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages all Wellness Staff to provide compassionate care for residents.
• Implement and coordinate all services for residents admitted to community.
• Perform quarterly evaluations and ongoing assessments of residents.
• Use resident evaluations to set measurable goals and outcomes for residents that meet physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.
• Make necessary changes to service plans.
• Overall responsibility for direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Personal Care Department.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provide assistance to staff regarding interpretation of criteria standards.
• Evaluate Occurrence Reports/Care Associate logs and report to State if applicable.
• Resident and family relationship building to identify, plan, and obtain needed assistance from the Personal Care Department and other departments.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and recommendations for operating improvements.
• Utilize budget to maintain inventory.
• Plan monthly staff meetings and trainings with Life Enrichment Director.
• Act as resident advocate with third party care providers.
• Develop Care Associate assignments and training.
• Interview and hire staff within budgeted guidelines.
• Know emergency policies and provide updates to staff.
• Order supplies and manage procurement.
• Lead monthly Wellness Chats with third-party providers on resident health topics.
• Attend daily stand-up meetings with department leaders.
• Participate in monthly Resident Forums to share CorsoCare updates.
• Follow up on falls and perform safety assessments.
• Coordinate returns from LOA with families and reassess service needs.
• Manage Service Agreements to match current ADL needs.
• Support on the floor as needed.
