Job summary

Ovation Heartwood Preserve in Omaha, NE is hiring a Maintenance Assistant for a full-time on-site role in a senior living community. You will assist in maintaining the physical plant, perform general maintenance tasks, and help ensure a safe, clean environment for residents and staff under supervision.

The position requires routine duties, safety checks, coordination with vendors, and responsiveness to emergencies, with a schedule Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance of a building such as a long-term care, apartment complex or business facility.
• Basic knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators and various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Basic knowledge in building codes and safety regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, minor repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets).
• Conduct routine safety checks, report hazards or needed repairs, and assist with snow and ice removal as needed.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitation duties, including trash removal, floor care, and maintaining a clean environment.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment; keep accurate records.
