Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of related experience preferred.
• Accredited maintenance training program may be considered in lieu of work experience.
• State licenses, as required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of carpentry including drywall repair, painting, light plumbing, and preventative maintenance.
• Basic technical and mechanical skills to perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all areas inside the building to a high cleanliness standard (carpets, furniture, windows, flooring).
• Support grounds maintenance and lawn care in collaboration with contractors.
• Assist with preventative maintenance program documentation.
• Prepare and refurbish apartments for move-ins (patching, painting, flooring).
• Maintain fire safety records and respond to emergencies; inspect apartments for hazards.
• Schedule preventative maintenance and maintain QA records for systems.
• Use building management software to document tasks and work orders.
• Repair and maintain janitorial equipment and facilities.
• Communicate with residents’ families about well-being and care.
• Collaborate with staff and follow management direction; engage in conflict resolution as needed.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
