Job summary

HumanGood in Pennsylvania seeks an Activity Coordinator to develop wellness and recreation programs for residents, coordinating staff and volunteers to deliver engaging activities. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in geriatric settings, two+ years of programming with older adults, and relevant certifications; a strong focus on planning

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in recreation, health education or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a geriatric setting; or equivalent.
• Two+ years of direct programming experience with older adults.
• State certification for Activities Leader preferred for those not in Skilled Nursing.
• CTRS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor wellness and recreation programs to meet residents’ needs.
• Provide programs and events that encourage engagement and socialization.
• Ensure life enrichment programs meet local, state and federal regulations.
• Plan and participate in activities across entertainment, cooking, arts, games and outings; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Guide and coordinate work of Activity Assistants and volunteers; recruitment and training.
• Plan monthly activities calendar; coordinate in-room programs for bedfast residents and those not attending group activities.
