Job summary

Frederick Living in Pennsylvania is seeking an Activity Assistant who enjoys working with older adults to plan and lead engaging group and individual activities for residents across Residential Living, Memory Care/Personal Care, and Skilled Nursing.

You will support the Life Enrichment Team, adapt programs to varying abilities, and help with transportation and events while creating a warm, welcoming environment and documenting activities as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and leading group and one-on-one activities for residents.
• Help provide a variety of recreational, social, creative, and wellness-focused programs.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities based on their interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Spend meaningful one-on-one time with residents who may not participate in group activities.
• Adapt activities to meet the physical and cognitive abilities of individual residents.
• Assist with activities and engagement for residents living with dementia and other cognitive or physical limitations.
• Help with community-wide events, special programs, outings, and celebrations.
• Assist residents with transportation to and from activities and outings as needed.
• Work closely with the Life Enrichment Team and other departments to support resident engagement and quality of life.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming, and respectful environment for residents.
• Complete basic activity documentation as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
