Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Knowledgeable in cooking large quantities with little direction.
• Knowledgeable of culinary practices, procedures, and food safety.
• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following menus and recipes.
• Inspect diet trays and ensure correct diets; follow portion control.
• Prepare cold item foods, bakery and salad items.
• Cook hot foods as directed by Supervisors; follow culinary practices and food safety.
• Adhere to food service timelines.
• Prepare and serve authorized substitutions when residents refuse options.
• Serve meals to residents and guests.
• Assist in food preparation for special meals, events.
• Follow sanitary regulations and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Assist with inventory and replenishment for food and supplies.
