Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a Facilities Operations Assistant in Richmond, VA. You’ll support daily maintenance, respond to service requests, and keep the community safe, well‑functioning, and welcoming for residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, minor repairs across plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, plus HVAC support. The role requires safety awareness, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic senior living environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of maintenance or facilities experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and general repairs.
• Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside normal hours.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and light housekeeping throughout the community grounds and buildings.
• Complete repair requests for apartments, common areas, equipment, and vehicles promptly.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry.
• Assist with HVAC systems as assigned and monitor life safety compliance.
• Maintain tools and maintenance areas in a clean and organized condition.
