Job summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a Facilities Operations Assistant to support day-to-day maintenance of our senior living community. The role involves upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles, with emphasis on safety and reliability for residents and families.

You will respond to service requests, perform preventive maintenance, assist with HVAC and general repairs, and help prepare units for new residents. This is a full-time, on-site position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of maintenance or facilities experience.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and general repairs.
• Understanding of OSHA standards, fire prevention and life safety regulations.
• Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and light housekeeping across the community.
• Complete service requests for repairs in apartments, common areas, equipment and vehicles.
• Undertake basic plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, carpentry and appliance upkeep.
• Assist with HVAC, heating, cooling and refrigeration systems as assigned.
• Maintain floors and prepare 'make-ready' units for new residents.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and on-call requests as needed.
• Ensure safety standards, OSHA compliance and life-safety guidelines.
• Keep tools and work areas organized and communicate status with supervisors.
