Job summary

Atria Senior Living, Inc. is hiring a transportation driver in Sunnyvale, CA. You will provide safe, courteous rides for residents, assist them in and out of the vehicle, and ensure proper securing of wheelchairs while following daily schedules.

Responsibilities include conducting routine vehicle maintenance checks, handling minor on-road repairs, and reporting issues. This role offers competitive hourly pay and benefits aligned with full-time employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience.
• Five (5) years of driving experience and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance programs.
• Commercial driver's license required to operate commercial size vehicles.
• Able to operate a seven to sixteen passenger bus; limousine or car; tire changing equipment; First Aid Kit.
• Experienced with vehicle emergency repairs, able to change automobile tires.
• Knowledgeable of streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
• Position requires driving responsibilities and MVRC compliance.
• Must satisfactorily meet and be in compliance with Atria’s Motor Vehicle Record Policy standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, courteous transportation service and support Engage Life Director or Maintenance Director.
• Drive vehicle from community to social and other destinations according to schedule.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicle in a safe manner.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Practice safe driving techniques at all times.
• Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and report maintenance needs.
• Establish and monitor daily/weekly trip inspections and preventative maintenance records.
• Deliver groceries and belongings to resident apartments.
• Assist Engage Life Department in activities and programs as needed.
• Ensure charges are submitted to the business office daily for travel expenses.
• Maintain a safe driving record according to Company guidelines.
• Handle emergencies and basic First Aid.
• Report potentially unsafe conditions to the Executive Director.
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
