Job summary

Atria Senior Living in Glendale, CA seeks a dedicated driver to provide safe transportation for residents to activities and appointments. You will assist residents in and out of vehicles, secure wheelchairs, and ensure wheels are safely restrained during trips.

The role requires a CDL, 5+ years of driving experience, and strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance. You will follow safety protocols and contribute to a supportive community environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience.
• 5+ years driving experience and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance.
• CDL required to operate commercial size vehicles.
• Able to operate 7–16 passenger bus and related equipment.
• Experience with vehicle emergency repairs and tire changes.
• Knowledge of streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
• Position requires driving responsibilities and potentially company or personal vehicle use.
• Must meet Atria Motor Vehicle Record policy.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle from community to social destinations per schedule.
• Assist residents into/out of vehicle safely.
• Secure wheelchairs and restraints during trips.
• Practice safe driving techniques at all times.
• Clean and service vehicle; report maintenance needs.
• Maintain daily/weekly trip inspections and maintenance records.
• Deliver groceries and belongings to residents' apartments.
• Assist Engage Life Department as needed.
• Submit charges to business office daily for travel expenses.
• Maintain safe driving record per company guidelines.
• Handle emergencies and First Aid; report unsafe conditions.

Education

GED or high school diploma

5+ years driving experience

Commercial driver's license (CDL)
