Job summary

Discovery Management Group is seeking a Driver to join our team. The role provides transportation for residents to activities, assists passengers, and ensures safety during trips.

You will help keep community vehicles in good condition and perform light maintenance tasks as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, being 21 or older, and possibly a CDL depending on regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Current commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be required with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation regulations.
• Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.
• Must be knowledgeable of all safety precautions and comply with safety measures.
• Competent in organization, time management skills and handling multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and courteous transportation for residents to and from activities.
• Assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
• Secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trips.
• Operate radio, cell phone or pager to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
• Maintain community vehicles in good working condition.
• Clean and service vehicles with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Assist with vehicle registration and license plate renewal process.
• Inspect and document vehicle condition on a monthly and per trip basis.
• This position will also require some maintenance duties inside the community.
