Job summary

Cedarhurst of Salina is seeking a reliable Driver to transport residents safely to activities, appointments, and other destinations, while assisting with mobility and ensuring security of wheelchairs and equipment.

The role emphasizes courteous, respectful service, adherence to DOT regulations, and collaboration with the Executive Director and staff to support residents’ independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of public transportation experience preferred, preferably in a senior living setting.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate Cedarhurst vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle to destination according to schedule.
• Assist passengers into and out of vehicle.
• Secure wheelchairs to restraints during trips.
• Operate radio to communicate with base or other vehicles.
• Clean and service vehicle; manage fuel and lubricants.
• Meet all DOT requirements.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
• Collaborate with management and resolve conflicts as needed.
