Job summary

Cedarhurst Living in Missouri seeks a Driver to transport residents to activities and appointments, while assisting with mobility and maintaining wheelchairs. The role supports resident independence and safety.

The Driver ensures clean, safe vehicles, adheres to DOT rules, and communicates with families and staff to provide compassionate service. A high school diploma and valid license are required; CPR/BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A minimum of one year of public transportation experience preferred, with prior senior living experience strongly desired.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate any Cedarhurst vehicle.
• Must be over the age of 23 to operate a Cedarhurst 15 passenger van.
• Must hold and maintain an active, valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle from community area to destination according to assigned schedule.
• Assist passengers into and out of vehicle.
• Secure passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Operate radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles.
• Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• Ensure effective communication with residents’ families concerning care and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with management and team members, and engage in conflict resolution as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
