Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Driver to safely transport residents to activities and appointments, assist with mobility, and ensure proper wheelchair security. The role supports residents’ independence and quality of life while adhering to DOT and safety standards.

The Driver reports to the Executive Director, maintains vehicle readiness, communicates with residents and families, and works with a team to deliver courteous service. A Class E license and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year public transportation experience preferred, especially in a senior living setting.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to operate Cedarhurst vehicle.
• Must be over 23 to operate a Cedarhurst 15 passenger van.
• Must hold and maintain an active, valid driver''s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web-based platforms, EHR systems, and HR-related systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicle from community area to destination according to schedule.
• Assist passengers into and out of vehicle.
• Secure passengers'' wheelchairs to restraints.
• Operate radio to communicate with base or other vehicles.
• Clean and service vehicle; refuel as needed.
• Meet all DOT requirements.
• Communicate with residents'' families about care and transportation.
• Collaborate with staff and management; resolve conflicts as needed.
