Job summary

Cedarhurst Living in Louisville, KY seeks a Dining Services Director to lead a senior living community's dining program, ensuring nutritious meals and excellent hospitality for residents and families.

Lead a dining team, manage daily kitchen and service operations, and collaborate with vendors and leadership to uphold food safety, infection control, and budget standards while developing menus and events.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with culinary training OR 3-5 years of culinary experience required.
• Applicable state/county licensure required.
• Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain, is required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Previous staff management and/or coaching and mentoring of dining services team experience is preferred.
• Experience in a senior living community is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and HR-related platforms.

Responsibilities

• Supervises 10-15 employees in day-to-day dining services for seniors.
• Schedule staff and provide coverage when needed.
• Maintain communication with vendors, leadership and regional dining services.
• Support catering, room service, and special events.
• Manage inventories and cost controls to stay within budget.
• Train staff on kitchen equipment operation and safety procedures.
• Coordinate menu planning, food preparation and resident events.
• Recruit, orient, and hire new dining staff.
