Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is seeking a Dining Services Director to lead the community's dining program, ensuring nutritious meals and exceptional hospitality for residents and guests. You will manage the dining team, oversee kitchen and dining operations, and collaborate with vendors and leadership to meet food safety and budget standards.

The role combines menu planning, staff development, and hands-on involvement in service, with a focus on resident satisfaction and support for marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with culinary training OR 3-5 years of culinary experience required.
• Applicable state/county licensure required.
• Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain, is required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Previous staff management and/or coaching and mentoring of dining services team experience is preferred.
• Experience in a senior living community is preferred.
• Proficiency in common digital tools including Microsoft Office and HR/EHR platforms.

Responsibilities

• Supervises 10-15 dining staff in daily operation for seniors.
• Schedule staff on an ongoing basis and provide coverage when needed.
• Maintain communication with vendors, leadership, and regional dining services.
• Oversee catering, room service, special events, and marketing support.
• Manage inventories and control food and supply costs within budget.
• Train staff on kitchen equipment operation and safety.
