Job summary

Cardinal Bay in Huntsville, TX, is seeking a Director of Culinary Arts to lead our dining program and ensure high-end, resident-focused cuisine.

This leadership role requires an Executive Chef background with budgeting, scheduling, and staff development, plus Serve Safe certification. You will collaborate with operations and dining staff to deliver exceptional service across meals and events.

Qualifications

• Five plus years as an Executive Chef and three years of management/administrative experience, preferably as an Assistant Director including planning and budgeting.
• Culinary degree preferred.
• Three to Five years’ experience in senior living or other hospitality dining services.
• Serve Safe Certified.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, and inspects the work of staff preparing, cooking, and serving food to residents, staff, and visitors.
• Schedules and coordinates the work of chefs, cooks, and other kitchen and dining room employees to meet budgeted labor costs.
• Supervises training on safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles.
• Controls food and payroll costs to maximize profitability.
• Oversees requisition of products and supplies.
• Consults with Executive Director and other directors for provision of product for activities and events.
