Job summary

The candidate should have a high school diploma, 1 year of scratch cooking, and experience feeding large groups, plus ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Experience regularly preparing meals for large groups required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Ability to serve seniors with hospitality and care.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain systems to ensure timely meal services.
• Check daily menu and events calendar for food and supplies.
• Prepare meals meeting nutritional requirements and appealing in appearance.
• Garnish plates to enhance dining experience.
• Prepare food based on standardized recipes and substitutions.
• Season food appropriately and serve according to portion controls.
• Assist in special meals and events; manage leftovers to reduce costs.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and in compliance with regulations.
• Keep cooler/freezer properly dated and organized.
• Maintain clean, sanitized work environment and follow handwashing procedures.
• Assist with supervisory duties in absence of Dining Services Director.
