Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience regularly preparing meals for large groups.
• Must be ServSafe certified.

Responsibilities

• Maintains system to ensure timely meal services.
• Checks daily menu and events calendar to ensure necessary food and supplies.
• Prepares meals meeting nutritional requirements and appealing in appearance.
• Garnishes plates to enhance dining experience.
• Prepares food based on standardized recipes.
• Substitutions must be authorized.
• Seasons food appropriately and serves with portion controls.
• Assists in preparation for special meals/events.
• Estimates portions and uses leftovers to reduce costs.
• Operates kitchen in line with sanitation and safety regulations.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely (steamer, oven, grill, etc.).
• Maintains cooler/freezer with proper dating and labeling.
• Assists with daily kitchen duties and cleanup.
• Completes daily cleaning assignments and maintains cleanliness.
• Follows handwashing procedures for food safety.
• Assists with supervisory duties in absence of Dining Services Director.
