Somerset Court of Goldsboro is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will prepare meals per menu plans, ensure proper portion control, and maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutrition, appeal, and dietary requirements.
• Meal Service: Serve meals timely with high quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen following safety procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work with Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new staff.
• Inventory Control: Help track food supplies and report shortages or orders.
• Resident Engagement: Accommodate dietary requests and preferences for resident satisfaction.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
