Job summary

Somerset Court of Rocky Mount is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will follow menu plans, accommodate dietary requirements, and ensure meals are appetizing and prepared safely.

In addition to cooking, you will help maintain a clean kitchen, support inventory, and collaborate with the Dietary Manager to meet residents' preferences. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring meals are nutritious, appetizing, and meet dietary requirements.
• Serve meals in a timely manner with high quality, proper portion control and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen following safety procedures.
• Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages or needs.
• Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents' preferences.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
