Cedarhurst Living is seeking a Cook to join our dining team. You will prepare high-quality meals, meet dietary needs, and help maintain safety standards in a resident-focused environment.

You’ll support training of new staff, collaborate with the Dining Services Director, and ensure meals are served timely and at proper temperatures. This role emphasizes teamwork and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year experience as a cook is preferred.
• Applicable state/county licensure required.
• Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain, is required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs, EHR systems, and HR-related systems.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, portion, and serve foods per menu cycle and standardized recipes.
• Taste and determine food quality.
• Prepare all special dietary needs as directed by the Dining Services Director.
• Determine food and supplies needed and coordinate meal production with serving hours.
• Assist with documentation of temperature logs, taste panel forms, and cleaning schedules.
• Assist with orientation and training of new kitchen staff.
• Handle food in a safe and appropriate manner and follow infection control procedures.
• Communicate effectively with residents’ families regarding care and wellbeing.
