Job summary

Williamston House in Williamston, NC is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will prepare meals per menus and dietary needs, ensure timely service, maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen, and collaborate with the Dietary Manager to train new staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Serve meals in a timely manner with high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and sanitation practices.
