Covenant Place is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for residents. You will work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure meals meet dietary requirements and are served with attention to taste, portion control, and presentation.

The role emphasizes adherence to food safety standards, resident preferences, and a collaborative, compassionate approach in a senior living setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience cooking in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant settings preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation: cook meals per menus, ensuring nutrition and dietary needs.
• Meal service: serve meals timely with quality, portion control and presentation.
• Kitchen maintenance: keep kitchen clean, organized and sanitary.
• Team collaboration: assist dietary manager and train new staff as needed.
• Inventory control: help track supplies and report shortages.
• Resident engagement: accommodate dietary requests and preferences.
• Regulatory compliance: follow health, safety and sanitation rules.
