Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is required.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans; strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutritious, appetizing dishes that meet dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Ensure meals are served promptly with high quality, appropriate portions and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitary; ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new staff as needed.
• Inventory Control: Help track food supplies and report shortages or orders to the Dietary Manager.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate preferences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
