Job summary

The Hermitage is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to our residents. You will assist with meal preparation, serving, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience in a compassionate, elder-friendly environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, knowledge of food safety, and excellent communication and teamwork skills. This role offers on-site work with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within our care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance during setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols including storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; report shortages or needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect individual preferences during meals.
