Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous cooking experience in a senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans; strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation: prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutritious, appetizing dishes that meet dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal service: serve meals in a timely manner with high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen maintenance: maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment and proper food storage and handling.
• Team collaboration: work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new kitchen staff.
• Inventory control: assist with inventory management and report shortages or needs.
• Resident engagement: respond to special dietary requests and accommodate preferences.
• Regulatory compliance: adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
